Mui Ne

Overview

Binh Thuan attracts tourists from everywhere for its lovely landscapes. The mountains lie from west to east and reach the beautiful beaches. Famous tourist sites include Ca Na, Phan Thiet, Mui Ne, and Ham Tan. There are many great architectural sites such as towers, communal houses, pagodas, temples, shrines, and tombs. Lively cultural activities including festivals, traditional customs, dancing, and traditional music take place in Binh Thuan. The population of Binh Thuan still follows traditional values of Sa Huynh and Cham ancient cultures.

Binh Thuan is a coastal province located to the east of Ho Chi Minh City. Eight ethnic minorities populate this area: Kinh, Cham, Hoa, Tay, Nung, Ra Glai, and Ma. Economic potentialities: agriculture, marine resources, wood-processing industry. The annual average temperature varies between 26 and 27°C.

Attractions
The main attraction in Mui Ne is the beautiful white beaches. Also, Mui ne is becoming recognize as as world class stop for kiteboarding, kitesurfing and windsurfing.

Away from the beach, the key attraction of Mui Ne are its sand dunes, of which there are three sets which can easily be visited from Mui Ne, either independently by bicycle or motorbike or by motorbike taxi or jeep. While not of Lawrence of Arabia proportions, they are nevertheless very photogenic and with a bit of trick photography, you too can be Lawrence. Best visited in the late afternoon when the light is sublime, you can also catch the sunset from above Mui Ne village which, with its bevy of fishing boats, is particularly scenic.
Transportation
Transport: Phan Thiet is 120km from Phan Rang, 198km from Ho Chi Minh City, 247km from Dalat, 250km from Nha Trang and National Highway 1 passes through Phan Thiet. All vehicles going north or south along the coasts pass through the town.
By train: The station to Phan Thiet is 12km west of the town at Muong Man. The express train between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City stops here.
By bus: Phan Thiet Bus Station is on Tu Van Tu St. (north of centre). Tickets should be purchased the day prior to departure. Buses depart daily for Phan Thiet to Bien Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Long Khanh and Mui Ne.
